My parents take me to Farmington Canal to ride my bike while they push my sister in a stroller and walk and talk.
#35. An Old Folks' Home-
We visited my Great Grandma Gerda when were in Florida. I made friends with some of her friends and we all watched a movie and ate popcorn together.
#18. An Art Museum-
We visited the Wadsworth Antheneum, the oldest public art museum in America. I got to see paintings by Claude Monet.
#54. A Living History Museum-
We went to Homeschool Day at Old Sturbridge Village. We watched people demonstrating how things were made back then. My favorite part was dressing up in old clothes and pretending to live and work in the village, too.
#52. A Literary Location-
We took a trip to Boston Public Gardens. We did a walking tour, had a picnic under a willow tree, fed the ducks, rode the swan boats and I swam with my little sister in the Frog Pond. Boston Public Gardens was featured in two famous children's books that we read before our visit: The Trumpet of the Swan and Make Way for Ducklings.
#16. A swimming hole-
My mom took Avril and I swimming at a local park this summer. A friend told her about this special spot and my mom promised to help keep it a secret so it doesn't ever get too crowded.
#21. An Aquarium-
When we were in New Jersey visiting my Aunt Michelle, we went to the Adventure Aquarium. My mom and I got to get in the pool and feed and pet the stingrays. They were very friendly like puppies!
